I am excited to be running to be your ANC Commissioner, to be your advocate, and to make a difference in our community.

I have what it takes to be an effective ANC Commissioner.

My Personal and Professional Experience

I have lived in the District of Columbia for nearly 50 years and on Tennyson Street, NW, for over 30 years. I am married to Amy Rudnick. We have two children who were born and raised in DC.

I have the personal and professional experience and skills that are needed to represent and advocate for the interests of our community — that is, the ability to listen, to learn, to empathize, and to reach consensus on the most pressing issues that we face so that we can build a more inclusive community together.

I have been involved in local politics from Julius Hobson through Mayor Bowser, including as a member of the DC State Democratic Committee. I have worked with the agencies that most directly impact our lives, and I enjoy the support of many community leaders. This year, I was able to get a second speed hump on the 3300 block of Tennyson St., NW. Perhaps my greatest accomplishment!

Nationally, I was a member of the 2008 Barack Obama National Finance Committee and the Co-Chair of the blogs and OpEd Subcommittee of the Law and Judiciary Advisory Committee. I also worked on the Al Gore and Bill Clinton presidential campaigns.

Professionally, I have been a Legal Aid and defense attorney, a federal prosecutor, a Congressional counsel, and a Deloitte partner, and I have taught at the college and law school levels. Most recently, I was a Residential Fellow at the Institute of Politics at the Harvard Kennedy School. For the past three years, I was an on-air CNN Legal Analyst covering the Mueller investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential campaign and the Trump impeachment.

My Volunteer Activities and Interests

My volunteer activities include serving as a Board member of KEEN Greater DC-Baltimore (which provides exercise and recreation programs free-of-charge to children, teens, and young adults with physical and developmental disabilities), an Auction Committee Chair for KidSave (which provides adoption services for older children), and a reading tutor in the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy.

For many years, I coached my children’s DC Stoddert indoor and outdoor soccer teams. I am a proud member of the DC Velo bicycle racing team, a dedicated sports fan, a music lover, and a budding photographer and guitarist.
